I surprised myself by being entranced by the way the goblet was formed!!! And now have a face to go with your name. I was also surprised by how quickly you were able to turn the wood into a goblet. And didn't break the stem as it got thinner and thinner. Congrats on not only creating a lovely goblet, but in producing the video!!

Wow!! That was wonderful to watch. :applesauce: :applesauce:

Well put together and a superb goblet at the finish! I like the way you've given a waxed finish, nice and natural. I hate varnishes and gloss. Wax brings out the grain and natural beauty of wood. :stars:

That was NEAT! I couldn't tell, tho, if you used sandpaper and/or what grades you used. I liked the way you critiqued the process (what tools might have made it easier), as well as giving the dimensions. The waxing was magical to watch on the lathe. Poplar is a lovely wood. :king: :king:

Thank you for all the comments, really happy that people are enjoying the videos. I even find myself getting entranced when watching the videos for editing.

I finished to 600 grit, and now that you mentioned that I will make sure to say in future videos what I've sanded too.

I also have this video of a shop stool that I made.

Plus I made this a couple weeks back but didn't get to make a video of it. It's a lidded bowl from a pine burl and its 4 1/2" by 4 1/2". A burl is basically an infection in the tree that the tree tries to push out and it creates a ball on the outside of the tree.

Amazing how an infection on a tree can look so beautiful when made into a lidded bowl! :applesauce: :applesauce:

Smashing. I really envy you on two counts:
  1. Having a wood lathe
  2. Having the dexterity to use it.
The goblet is really good, and the timber of the burl is so attractive.

All the best with future projects
