Thank you. It's a skein that I dyed myself many lifetimes ago when I did lots of that sort of thing. My speciality used to be rich deep colors.. jeweltones is exactly how I described much of what I did.

Wow.. I knew it had been a while since I last worked on these socks or updated my post here about them, but I hadn't realized just how long. Oops! And to think there was a point where I averaged 1 - 2 PAIRS of socks a month! I am definately going to have to try to do better.

Here's where I'm up to. This sock has been a tricky one so far. I've knit enough socks that I've had the basic structure and shaping of them memorized and it's just been a matter of inserting the pattern on the instep and leg. Not so much with this pair, they have managed to turn everything around completely on me. That combined with a tricky pattern and they're proving to be just the sort of challenge I enjoy. I've finally finished all the shaping on this sock now though, so the rest should be relatively easy, and hopefully the second sock won't take me another year. I know my hand knit socks are incredibly hard wearing and last for years (and usually get reincarnated with a bit of darning when they do wear out), but even then, at that rate I'll have worn out all the pairs I currently own before I manage to restock them!

I've been wanting to knit lace recently, but I've told myself that I need to finish two WIPS before I can start a new one. Fortunately unlike HAEDS, a pair of socks ought to be a month's knitting at most even for a tricky one like this. IF I actually work on them that is. So hopefully that motivation will get me cracking.

Ooohh, your socks are very pretty. Love the pattern on the green ones. Remember making socks for my dad many years ago in the 1950s. . Mum & I used to knit them for him but not as pretty as yours, he had only plain ones. :D

Very pretty pattern and I'm glad it's worth the effort. I haven't attempted socks yet, too much cross stitch I must stitch first. :)
