Now having Quilting Lessons - 28th Oct.

We started a week last Saturday with cutting the fabric and a little Pimms to help!!!


Had another lesson tonight and the sewing machine bit is done!!! Just some hand sewing now round the neck and various other bits!!!

You are one lucky person! I don't have anyone to teach me how to sew or knit/crochet. I've had to teach myself through books and online (thank goodness for the internet). The little bit of things that I was taught by hands on with someone (when I was a youngling) is so much easier than on your own. Now when I learn something new I involve my daughter so we can learn together and that way she isn't in her 30s trying to figure this stuff out. Plus (I'm sure your mom feels this way) I have to say my heart swells with pride and love when I do things like this with my daughter cause it's such a huge bonding moment. Can't have enough moments like that with our Mommies!

So last night I went along to a beginner's sewing class / group with a friend and this I'd what I made!!!

Going back again next week to do more!!!!!

And I could go for a Pimms! I haven't had one all summer!

I wish I could sew. I've talked to an aunt about teaching me.. her daugher rolls her eyes and says- good luck with that- I've been asking for years. Mom has 4 sewing machines. All inherited, all with one thing or another wrong with it.. but also all are 30+ year old, workhorse machines. She sews so rarely that she doesn't want to put the money into repairing any of them.

One of these days I will have to learn.

It's going to be a cushion, the squares need to get a bit bigger first!!!

All this started just by my wanting to use the machine to edge my cross stitch fabric!!!

wow you seem to be doing great! I would love to learn how to use a sewing machine. Although I feel if I learned how to make clothes my already ridiculously full wardrobe would explode!
