Posting Pictures into a thread.

Post by Rose »

To post up a pic in a thread you need an image code (IMG code). You can get this by uploading your picture to photobucket. http://photobucket.com/ (It's free to join)

Underneath the picture you upload to your photobucket album there are about 3 or 4 codes the bottom one is the one you need. Just copy and paste into your post and then your picture will appear...

The above information was supplied by ekidna. She uses photobucket but I found in webshots a similar area for this type of link.

Hope this will help some of us with our posts.

whenever you post a message, if you notice above the box where you write, there are a list of things, one being "Img". when you pass your mouse over it, a short note appears right above the box where you're writing, saying "Insert image: etc..."
1.- copy the URL underneath the image, Photobucket, webshots, flik'r, picture trail, everyone has it, then paste into the body of your message.
2. very simple. it should work, if I can, anyone can!

If you make an account with Photobucket, you'll get the following screen (without my pictures i've uploading already ofc):

Image

The one with the green line around is where you go to upload the files onto Photobucket from your pc.

The text with the red line around is what you select and copy, then paste into the thread to put your pictures in a thread.

Hope this helps!

(Edit: Btw, sorry for the image taking up half the screen  )

The reason I like tinypic so much is that you don't have to join or anything. Just go to this page:

http://tinypic.com/?t=postupload" target="_blank

and follow their directions (Browse from your pc, Upload now, type in the security confirmation they give you and then cut & paste the code they display onto your post in any thread/forum/chat etc.)

When using webshots it is very easy to post a picture. When you click on the picture then off to the right you will see a box it says Link this picture in there is gives 5 options for the size of the picture, I usually us 425 as it is big enough to give a good look at the details. Then there are 3 options for how you want to link use the "post in a forum" option. Left click to highlight the link and then right click and copy. Come to the forum and again right click in the post and paste the link. Then your picture will show.

OK, having got the photo in, how do you change the title or header to show there's been an update? I knew once, but have forgotten!

If you edit the first post of a thread, you can change the topic title. (At least, I'm assuming this is what you're asking about?)

How do you get the thumbnail picture Carole? I can do it on the HAED BB but no idea how to do it on here.
Thanks

Took me a while to figure it out which was driving me nuts because I had seen others do thumbnails.
When you click on the picture you want posted, on the right hand side of the page you should see your link options. If you aren't seeing the thumbnail choice, click on update link options at the bottom of the list. (Took me forever to see it, despite its being right there)
It should take you to this page and all you have to do is to choose which link options you want. (I have them all clicked) I choose to copy IMG thumb. I also have unchecked "link back to albums" since I have so much junk photos that I have to clean out. Hope the links I gave you worked. If they don't let me know and I can take screen shots to show you.
