She needs to get her Westies on their leads!! I usually don't like backstitch, but from what you've done so far it's really bringing it to life :D
That fabric for the orchids looks really interesting, it'll save on background stitching!

Amazing work with the backstitching! It really makes the picture look like a painting. I always wondered why patterns had that annoying backstitching! :D Really though. It looks fabulous!

I agree. The backstitch 'shading' makes so much difference it will be well worth the effort.

You are doing a great job with the lady and her dogs. I agree about the back stitching, it is a pain to do but does make a huge difference to the overall picture.

I think the idea of adding other bits to the guitar one will be just right.

Well done.

i dont mind back stitching so muc, in fact I think it gives a finished look. however, when I look at the woman, I currently get the shivers. I shall pick it up in a few days but need a break from it at the moment.

Anyway, got posies back from the framers today, a picture is in my gallery.

I did some more on the orchids this morning before work and hopefully I wont get called into work tomorrow cause I want to do some more of it. I might just have to lose my phone tonight to solve that problem.

I tend to get more stitching done before work than any other time, I think it's because I dont dawdle like I do on my days off.

Some BS can be daunting but the final result makes it so worth it in the end. Do it in small stretches and you will have it finished in no time.

The posies look wonderful in there new frame.

The guitar looks cute and would make a great coaster!!!!

It's coming along nicely! I like the guitar as well. It's a perfect idea to turn it into a coaster

One month since I last posted..

I have done nothing on the french lady and westies

I have now completed half of the oriental orchids piece ( photo next time)

I have nothing on Garden Door Kitty

and I did a Koala card and forgot to photo it before I gave it to the person but am half way through another, will photo later.

and I have done made some chrsitams gifts not exactly who will get what yet. I will sell what I don't end up giving.

They are the coasters, bookmarks, gift box and fragrence sachets. I uploaded them to my gallery and you know, I can't remember how to link back to this post.

Oh, and I went on holidays for 5 days  I took stitching, I did none

These look wonderful. I especially like the first two bookmarks. Is the last one the lid to a box?

yes, tht last one is a lid to the box. I will re photo it tomorrow, it is a bad shot and doesn't show the box well. I didn't do the bits floating off the dandelion Mags cause then it wouldn't have fitted on the box and I have about 12 of those boxes I am adapting patterns for. I got the boxes on special and just because, but I had no plans for them at the time.

I shall also do the photo bookmarks the proper way up!

Now some of the stuff, I really like and now want to keep it and not give away as presents

I dont like the yellow flower sachet very much.

Oh, I must say I found some great fragarant for sachets. It vermiculite. This is what it looks like, although not the brand I got.

http://www.sachet.com/store/WsDefault.asp?One=252" target="_blank
I only got one and it's a 4 hour flight one way and another 4 hours home, I should have got more than one really considering the distance.
