maeflowers' WIP's

Post by maeflowers »

That's what my newest project is supposed to look like when finished. I'm doing a John Deere tractor for my boyfriend's grandpa. :) It's fun to get back into stitching, I haven't done it for quite a while. But I only work three hours this week, so why not?!

Here's my progress so far.

Image

The pattern for the tractor is very difficult to read. It's all black and white, and some of the symbols are hard to figure out. It's going to be very time-consuming, even though it's much smaller than my Honey Bear. Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about that one! Just floating back and forth between projects!

P.S. I apologize for the picture quality, I still can't figure out my camera!

That looks like a fun one to stitch. My husband is not a Deere fan his dad always had Massey Harris. They called John Deeres the long green line case it was so s****y. :)

Thanks all, I am getting used to the chart. But it is all black and white and the symbols are a little blurred. When you look down at the chart you forget where you were. I would like to mark off the squares I have done to make it easier to read but then I'd ruin the pattern.

And my camera is a digital Polaroid t737... :D

I have a Canon Powershot S5IS. What I do is I set the resolution on my camera to the highest resolution possible. Zooming out and not so far in helps with mine. If I zoom too far in or get too close I get the same results with my camera. The high resolution causes the pictures to be large when I download them, I can crop them and still have a great picture size, then I use irfanview (free program) to resize them. I LOVE this program, it resizes it but still keeps the great quality of the picture. The ONLY thing it effects is the size.

I always make a working copy of the pattern either by my own copy machine or going to the nearest Kinko's and enlarge the pattern for easier site. Then I either burn or run it through the shredder.

I agree with Rose. If you make a working copy of your pattern, you could then use a highlighter to mark the stitches of a color that you want to do and then go over with a different color after you've stitched them. It might make it easier to read the pattern as you go.
