I would love to see it when it's framed Serinde, so if you can't find this thread, just make a new one. It sounds so fabulous I think it will probably deserve it's own 'brand shiney new' thread anyhow.

Well, I did have to go digging for this thread, but here it is, framed.

My framer convinced me that oak would be too dark, and so I went with the light frame. I put it into the local show and it was awarded a First and also Best in Section, so I'm very chuffed. (Even got a rosette!!! ) There are a couple of other new pieces in the gallery, btw.

Amazing, and the white frame is really outstanding (your framer has good taste!)

The mount is perfect and I'm not surprised it got awarded first prize -- congratulations ! The frame is very interesting, I'd probably have gone with something in wood -- not sure it would have been to dark, but this sets it off wonderfully as well.

I love the frame and the mount, the shape of the mount is perfect with those little triangular cuttings in the middle...

I am taking up mine, too, for the UFO club this week. Can't wait to see some more progress on it.

Golly! Remember this thread from the past? So many good forum-friends who haven't been around for a bit.

Anyway! I'm resurrecting it only to boast. Our local Embroiderers' Guild branch staged a retrospective exhibition this year (to go along with the 40th anniversary one in May/June). Well, much to my total amazement, this piece came joint 2nd place, nominated by the people who had visited the exhibition. I was astonished, given the absolutely gorgeous pieces of art that were on show. So I now have a little silver salver to polish until this time next year.
