Another long-standing WIP, which I'm determined to finish before Christmas. Can't start on my HAED before my big projects are finished. Venice is done, this is next and then finishing up a bellpull. Whew. This is a combination of cross stitch and blackwork. and is on 32ct linen. It's fun to do, so I hope to have it done soon.

What good eyes you have: overdyed Carrie's threads are what I'm using. And I shall have lots left over to play with, I suspect!

major blonde moment.
when I first looked at it i thought that doesnt look to hard
then I actually looked and soo all the middles stitched in, I fainted!!!
Thats is a gorgeous design.
one question.....whats a bell pull? at first i thiught it was a toilet flusher, you know on the older toilets and the cistern is above you head and you have to pull the chain? then I thought it was a door bell, and there sooo much wrong with that idea, lets forget it!!

Lisa a bell pull used to be used to summon a servant to the room. It was usually decorative, maybe tapestry, but I've seen iron ones as well.
Serinde, that really is beautiful. I love your colours too and was wondering like Wendy about how you achieved the shading effect. It looks wonderful!

This really is intricate & very impressive! Unfortunately I don't have the patience/mental powers necessary for something as delicate as this so I must appreciate your work from a distance! very well done!

I've got my eye on their "circles" and "triangles" designs -- just the thing to try all those variegated silks on
