What a great start you have made and the first little dog is taking shape nicely.

As far as needles go I use size 26 for most of my stitching and my favourite brand is Piecemakers.. I do have a few John James needles too but mainly use his petite needles for when I have only 2 or 3 stitches of 1 colour in the midst of many others.

Re: Dogs - update nov 2018

Well, it might be time for an update on the "dogs project". After not touching the project for a couple of months, I started working on it again in September. The little hoop kept bothering me, as I often wasn't able to finish a length of thread within the hoop area. By the end of September I bought a nice second-hand frame and that made a huge difference. I love the seeing the picture grow and stitching confetti isn't bothering me as much as it did before. It is a blessing to have a large kitchen table... :whoop:

I showed my work to my parents the other day and they were impressed by the amount of detail and the realistic colours.

What you have done really does look good. The fabric looks good, as does that fading into the edges.
You have done a really good job of the conversion, and the stitching looks perfect. Superb.

Regards,

Richard.

Oh this is so beautiful, as Richard said it is a fabulous conversion, and your stitches are lovely and neat and even.

You are making great progress.

And I have to say, that Doggie looks a very Happy Chappie

Thank you all for your kind words!
I cannot wait to continue stitching on it, but at moment I do lack the concentration I need to work on it (stupid cold). :( Luckily there are lots of small projects to work on.

She was a very happy dog indeed. She passed away a couple of years ago and was one of my favourites. As many dogs do, she loved to play outside.

I am so sorry it took me so long to return here.
But... it's a finish! After a little more than 2 years the project is done and I am so happy with the result.

Once it is framed, the piece will move to my parents.
