fccs's Promise of Spring finished

Post by fccs »

I started Promise of Spring using Alpine Forget-Me-Not (Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe) for the words and I'm really happy with how it looks on the fabric. II was hoping to have more done but my Disney WIP has stolen my time and attention. I'm up in Cheyenne and had planned to work on Past, Present, Forever during the day and Promise of Spring at night while watching tv in the living room. Instead I've found myself sitting at the kitchen island (where the lighting is excellent) both day and night working on Disney. I can watch (usually listen to) tv from my perch there. It also gives me a good view of the dogs and their antics, which are always amusing.

(I think I'm going to be really happy with the fabric and floss colors I chose. The photo on the chart is lovely, but it's almost too bleak (for me). The message is one of hope and I think my colors are going to work well with the sentiment.)

What a great project. It certainly gives a hopeful message. I really hate winter and I’m always pleased when spring has arrived and it’s no longer dark in the mornings. It’s looks lovely on that fabric :applesauce: :applesauce:

The fabric you have chosen is lovely Debby, and I really like the colour you are stitching with.

When I saw the design I thought it was too dark for the message of hope and brighter days ahead, in the transition period between Winter and Spring, I am looking forward to the colours you choose to stitch this hopeful message with.

Looks like our beloved forum might be working again. Here’s a test. I finished Promise of Spring. I still need to get it framed.

Oh this is so beautiful Debby and I really really like the way you have changed the colour of the flowers to the Spring-like yellow.

Can't wait to see it framed.

Thanks. I think the called for colors were just too drab. The yellow reminds me of spring, and the blue letters and yellow flowers were also chosen to honor Ukraine. I’ll get it framed soon and will show you all the final product.
