Re: Iris
Looks as if it's going to be great.
We have a thicket of Iris' exactly this colour (they desperately need separating), three are out at the moment and 20-30 more will be out within a week or so. Gorgeous flowers, and I'm sure the result will be as nice as the real thing.
Regards,
Richard.

I love Iris..we have a whole forest of them growing here.
This year the dark purple have done really well, they are almost black!

Re: Iris
That is going to be beautiful!! A lovely start. I love irises and have so many memories of a big garden of Irises my grandmother planted in our backyard when I was very young. They bloomed every summer for 26 years and didn't miss a summer until my mother died. I can't look at an iris without remembering both of them. Maybe I need to check out that pattern too!

Re: Iris
and what a great start it is too Linda. Love those colours. Incidentally Iris was my mothers 2nd name. Grandad had the job of naming the new baby as Gram was unwell so my mum became Freda (after an old girl friend of his) and Iris as it was the only flower in the garden at the time. The Iris was the little pale blue winter iris rather than the big showy ones.

Re: Iris
This is a good story. My Dad is called Pierre, as it was the name on the French Catholic calendar for the day of his birth! Good job that it was not a weird name!Squirrel wrote: Incidentally Iris was my mothers 2nd name. Linda, your Iris is looking already beautiful. What lovely colours!

Re: Iris
Those are gorgeous, such a deep colour too.
And on another note, had to frog out some stitches and it turned out they were perfectly fine,
Onward and upward lol

Re: Iris
Linda - maybe there is a new breed of frog around which is there to entice us to think something is wrong and we frog it only to discover we didn't really need too.?
