You're off to a good start! What a gorgeous design, can't wait to see the next update!
I just received my first HAED patterns (yes, plural... I couldn't pick just one). I might need to learn how to do that parking thing you're doing, that I've seen others do on this forum. Looks useful.

Re: Update on HAED Spring by Ruth Anderson 2nd edition
It looks good so far. You have beautiful, even stitching. Wish I could do as well.
I really hope the charting will be as good as your stitching. The mock-up on the HAED web site gives me a little cause for concern in the shadows of the folds of her dark cloak to the left of her hip/thigh, below arm and hand, almost at the focal point of the picture. There seems to be a disconcerting patch of even coloured dark thread there, loosing details. It is a feature of HAED's software (Pattern Maker) that it's not great selecting threads in the darker areas, and I really hope for your sake this is not one where the problem is real rather than something you can only pick up on the mock-up. I have done my own conversions on other images and felt the mock-up image is a bit grainy, and found in reality the areas I was concerned about looked reasonable, so this could be happening here. Not sure that it is the case, but I hope it is.
I will say, that this is actually a very hard image to convert to thread colours when keeping to a relatively small number of threads, and HAED have done a fairly creditable job for a 50 colour conversion. I do feel that it would have been better had they used 80+, but that's me being picky.
Anyway, your skill at producing beautiful stitching is second to none.
Regards,
Richard.

Re: Update on HAED Spring by Ruth Anderson 2nd edition
I must agree - a wonderful start on a beautiful design!
I have always wanted to do an HAED, however, I have always been concerned about the software's ability to get the colors right, especially in dark areas. I tried a program a few years ago to do a pinup girl and I gave up about a quarter of the way in because I did not like the graininess of the image. Perhaps one of these days I will have the bravery to dive into one - I have had my eye on one in particular for a while now!

Just finished first page. My first attempt at a HAED and parking. Enjoying it very much. Still very grey but the shading looks realistic.
Time will tell when I reach the confetti.

Congratulations on your first page finish. It's amazing to watch these large pieces like HAEDs come together. They are always heirloom quality when completed. I'm looking forward to more updates.
