I thought I would start a new topic for this year's projects. First off I would like to show you some beautiful threads that I recently won from Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe 12 Days of Christmas Giveaway!! They are so pretty and 12 skeins of 20 yards each!!! I'm still overwhelmed!!!
Image
Next is a SAL from Tempting Tangles that I started just before Christmas--it is still open for new people to join and there are 16 total parts to it--9 have been released already. Cost is minimal, I think it's $7 or less--I'm subbing in a lot of colors to make it different
Image
And last, for now, is a mystery one--can anyone guess what it is??? It's a kit that my sister gave me for Christmas, but of course I decided to change the fabric lol

WOW love those thread Karen, such a lovely sheen on them too. Your 2 current projects are lovely and I look forward to seeing more updates of them.

As for # 2 is it a child praying?

:applesauce: :applesauce: Great start for 2017! Will be fun watching the SAL develop and can't wait to see you using those gorgeous threads!
I had the same thought as Sally that the mystery piece is a child praying or maybe stitching. The face is beautiful!

Good guesses on the mystery one, it is in fact a little girl angel with flowers!!! It's Dimensions Passion Flower Angel, meant to be stitched on 14 count cream color aida but I switched that out for a hand dyed 18 count grayish marbled aida. Here is what the kit picture of her looks like Image

Congratulations on winning those deliciously beautiful threads.

That angel is so sweet. I love the Dimensions projects. This one is especially special with how they've used the thread to create a look of curls in her hair. I can't wait to see more updates.

Thanks for all of the very nice comments!! I'll be back to working on both of these again soon.
I have been working on a couple of designs from Blackbird Designs that is in a booklet called A Stitcher's Journal. This is a wonderful booklet that I was fortunate enough to borrow from The Lending Library on facebook.
First is Leland's Needlebook--stitched on a hand dyed 36 count linen and subbing in nearly all of the original threads--most of which I used are Victorian Motto's threads!

The second one is called Birds and Berries pinkeep using 32 count linen from Victorian Motto and subbing in various threads from my stash

Both of these will likely be finished as small pillows in the (hopefully) near future.

Both of these pieces are so beautiful. They will look lovely made into pillows. I can imagine these pillows sitting on a soft couch in a cottage out in the country...or maybe that's just my wishful thinking because that's where I would love to be.
