Serinde's Stitching Adventures UPDATE 11 Dec 2019

Thought I'd better set up a new thread for all the things I start, have a chance of finishing in this lifetime and are too "big" for the smalls thread and too small for a thread of their own. Just in case you think I'm sitting around doing nothing. So! Here we go.
This is a piece done for friends' little girl. (Several years late, but hey.) The stitching is probably 6x6inches, on 25ct lugana using Caron threads, some silk, metallic threads, lots of beads.

Well spotted, Mabel.
It was a design from New Stitches (inevitably), but MH didn't design it. Loopy Lou, I think.

I'm partially finished with "Sugar and Lace" from the
Just Cross Stitch 2007 Ornament issue from Victoria Sampler. I'm working it sideways, using Trebizond silk as the thickest thread, which is amazingly slippery (I have a horrible fear I'll need another spool...). The centre medallions were initially very difficult to count -- I really dislike charts that show a single line of chart being two fabric threads...
I actually put it away for a year, having miscounted and therefore wasted expensive threads. However! Here we are now, and I didn't think it was quite so difficult:

Will you look at the intricacy of those centre motifs!!!
Well done for persisting with this, though and it'll be worth it in the end!
"ça vaut le pein" as they say in France. Roughly translated as 'it's worth the trouble' (or pain)

Such a classically stylish colour combination, and the centre motifs are very elegant! Hope you manage to subdue those slippery threads

ARGGHHH! Wrong colour of soie perlee! Now remedied, but you can imagine what I thought when I realised the two threads next to each other were different colours.
Also realised that all the central cross stitching is in the slightly darker colour. But you know what? I don't care. It looks just fine.
