Roland's Stitching - Updated December 4, Starry Night with T

Post by Roland »

I guess I'll start a new thread since I can't edit in my original.

So, here's the stocking I am currently working on. Baby is due in less than two weeks, but parents know they won't be getting this until October or November.

Just the toe left, then the back stitching and name.

:applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: Beautiful update and the baby won't need this until Santa is ready to fill it. Next year baby gets to dump the stocking and that is going to be lots of fun!

Thanks. :)

I've been working on this while watching baseball. Since my Blue Jays are playing on the west coast the games are really late. I had to put it away tonight, I was up until 1 watching the game, so when it started tonight at 10:00 my eyes were already blurring out on me. Now, it's after midnight and they are only in the fifth inning. I need to go to bed and hope the Jays can win without me.

I have the same problem when the Angels are at home or otherwise on the west coast...especially when I have to get up 5 the next morning. Another reason why I love having my MLB TV - I can finish a game the next day. :-)

Such a beautiful piece. It will be such a keepsake. As for those Blue Jays...well, let's just say I was watching the game from somewhere close to Seattle, so it wasn't quite as late for me. :D

This is just the toe area of the stocking. I think I got a fair bit done this week.

The Blue Jays are home for about a week. I hope my husband gets home before 5, otherwise he is caught in traffic to the Dome. Not looking like this will be a problem for much longer though.

:applesauce: :applesauce: Lovely update!!!!
I will admit that I am scared to watch my Cubs. They lose when I watch so I keep an eye on them via the internet and the papers. Its a real fairy tale and I truly hope that they let that goat into Wrigley when the playoffs start and for all the games up to and including the World Series.
I don't expect rival teams to let Sam (I think that is either the current goat or the goat's owner?) in, but that wouldn't hurt my Cubbies, I don't think. The question is, would my watching the games, hurt?

I think I'm done the stitching. Sorry for the poor quality picture. Poor lighting.

Does the name at the top look centred? Do you see any areas that the backstitching doesn't look correct? I was unhappy with a lot of the backstitching. In my opinion, there were a lot of errors which I corrected as I stitched.

I wanted to use Mill Hill seed beads instead of French knots. But, the Santa in the upper right corner looked possessed.

I agree! A possessed Santa wouldn't be very inviting at all and the santas on this stocking look like they will be generous with their presents. Name looks centered to me. If it is off a few stitches no one but you would notice since they will be admiring all the beautiful detail in this stocking!
