Wow. You have set yourself one heck of a task, doing all of each colour one at a time. I admire you, but do hope you don't get bored with such a large sweep. No signs of it happening, but it's a risk.

Anyway, looking good and can imagine myself back on Ellis beach in North Queensland, just a few steps from our camper. Lovely.

Regards,

Richard.

Hi all, thanks for the replies.
This one took so long because at one point I run out of the colour and had to buy a second floss even though the project only called for one floss of that colour!
I went around various places and they all sell Anchor and I was afraid it would be a noticeable difference so I ended up buying it on line paying more for postage than for the thread itself!
And then I think I didn't touch it for a month because I had a trouble after another in January with my car breaking down and the tax people telling me I owe them money... anyway I ended up working all the time to get myself back on track with my finances.
Thank goodness I could do all this overtime.
Anyway. When I picked it up again I couldn't even remember where I had left and had to look at every chart.
But it was such a pleasure to stitch again, I got rid of all the stress of this past month.
I am already stitching the next colour and it is lovely to see the gaps in the sky filling up!
No chance of me getting bored of stitching this way, especially now that every new colour makes the picture clearer and clearer.
I have dubbed my project "50 shades of blue" though, as everytime I finish one colour and go to start the next one it turns out to be another blue!

It's amazing how much stitching can do for stress relief! Sorry you had such a difficult month, but glad that it is over and sounds like you are back on track! Looking forward to more progress updates!

Great update, and I'm glad things are getting better. I've never stitched one color at a time - makes for a fun and interesting progression.

I didn't realise I hadn't done any cross stitching since February!
But here it is, I've picked it up again today and finished colour 799 "delft blue"

I agree completely. How do you decide which color to stitch next?

I just stitch the colour with the highest number of stitches working my way to the colour with the lowest number of stitches.

For example the black was over 7000 stitches so I did it first.
The delft blue I finished today had around 1700 and the electric blue I just started will have 1600 stitches etc.

I find that it fills up the whole picture fast and I can have a rough idea of the whole picture quite soon in this way.
