I'm just starting to follow this thread. I am anxious to see your "mystery" piece appear. I look forward to many more updates.

Thank you, it's nice that you think it looks good already!
I'm still stitching away my black floss and when I think I'm done with black I inspect my charts and I discover more black stitches to do :stitching:

Remember there are no rules.
You can stop the black when you're bored with it, and can finish it off whenever you please.

I know that but my brain won't let me!!! :?

The thing is, I want to see the "skeleton" of the whole picture before I add all the colours, and also I'm curious to see the back of my project all done in black because I like the effect the black and white has together

That is really going to be something when you finish it, though.

We should put a Spoiler Alert in the title! But it is a lovely picture, and we will still enjoy seeing it grow :applesauce:

Mummy_of_Tia wrote:Thank you, I am actually enjoying doing all the black, it creates a nice pattern I think. Also when I look at the back of my work I like how all the black is making a kind of zebra-like pattern.
I will post a picture of the back when I'm done with it
(Warning: it's not perfect, there are knots and I don't follow the rules..)

Rule? We don't need no stinkin' rules!

I could never stitch this way. I get bored when I have to much of one colour to do.

Your work looks beautiful. :applesauce:

Yes of course you are allowed,
In fact Steve had already guessed it right and posted the picture of it, but I see he has removed it now, out of kindness when he read I was sad it got discovered so soon I guess
It is bound to become more and more obvious anyway.

I am the opposite, I can't leave one job unfinished, I wouldn't enjoy it anymore if I started another colour knowing I still haven't finished the previous one!

I can't believe I've never thought of gridding out the project before... I feel like hours of frustration could've been avoided. I'm adopting your very smart start right away...
