Mags stitchy stuff 2018

Post by mags »

Hi everyone

Sorry I haven't been around much, been going through a "what's the point" stitchy wise since Mum passed away. Hoping to get going again, although I don't seem to be excited by any of my current WIPs or stash. I picked out a little blackwork design from Needlework tips and techniques hopefully to get me started again. Now looking for the next one.

Sorry to hear about your Mum. I had a similar reaction when mine passed away.

Love the butterfly. Beautiful stitching and a gorgeous colour. Hope it helps you get the stitchy mojo back.

 to you Mags. Losing ones Mum is a life changing event that is for sure.

I really love that little blackwork heart, simple yet elegant and such a rich colour. Love it.

So sorry about your loss
Your butterfly is beautiful. I have never done blackwork before. This is tempting me to give it a try.

I'm sorry about the loss of your Mum
Sometimes stitching can be a comfort, sometimes it just feels irrelevant when something big like that hits your life. Don't worry about it and take it as it comes - your little butterfly is beautiful, and if he leads to other enjoyable projects that's great, but if you feel you need a bit of time away from it that's fine too.

 I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I am glad that you have found your way back to stitching and back to us. The butterfly is a beautiful piece to have started back with and I'm looking forward to seeing your next piece.

I, too, am sorry for your loss :hug:and quite understand your lack of stitching impetus.
That butterfly is beautifully stitched though and I'm sure that your Mum would encourage you to pick up your needle again soon.

Thanks everyone.

I did change a couple of things on the design a bit, 1. I went wrong  and 2. I couldn't get my head around one of the blackwork patterns so I simplified it.

Not yet started or even decided on my next project :tizzy:

Finally found my stitchy bug. :whoop:
I went through all the freebies I have downloaded over the years looking for card sized patterns and have made a start. Really enjoyed this one.

Love it. :whoop:

Mags, that is beautiful and the shading is so subtle. Card sized ones are great. I always keep a few cover kits etc around for times when doing something bigger is not an option. A beautiful update and I am looking forward to more of them. :)

Small designs are always so satisfying to stitch up when that Stitching Bug needs a boost!
