KittyZ's stitching 2022

Post by KittyZ »

Hi everyone! I finally have some time to post my current stitching projects.
I posted a photo of my recent finish "Cat's know" in my intro thread.
Right now I am working on several little things, they all ended up being Christmas themed.
First a set of 4 ornaments, I just finished the tuxedo cat.

I just started on the blue eyed kitty but only have the ears done so I will post an update photo of that ornament after I stitch more.

I'm also working on a set of 48 mini ornaments.
I just finished two of them, the teddy bear and the reindeer.

I am also working on Tis the Season (even though it is finally spring here)

I stitched the green present and candy cane and half of the red present but I will wait to post a progress photo when I have more done.
The bow was a pain to stitch because there are quite a few 1/4 & 3/4 stitches on stiff 14 count aida which slows me down.

And because I know there are a lot of cat lovers here, photos of my beautiful kitty helpers Milly & Izzy. :D

:applesauce: :applesauce: for the ornaments! I think one reason I became an aida fabric disliker (understatement) is because of the difficulty of stitching fractionals. Before I knew there were fabric alternatives other than linen, when I first started, I stitched several Teresa Wentzler designs on Aida. After discovering evenweaves, it is hard to go back, though admittedly the stiffer fabric is good for ornaments.

LOVE the kitties! I'm sure they love to help with the stitching too! And approve of your choice of designs!

Love the Tuxedo cat, the Christmas-y ones are great.

Your two Siamese fur babies steal the show though.

If it helps, when stitching fractionals on Aida, I keep a "sharps" needle in the grime guards and pierce the middle of the aida block ready for the fractional stitch, I also do this when I am placing French knots on unstitched aida fabric. HTH.

I always thought cross stitch was made just for Christmas pictures.

In fact, at a previous forum someone nicknamed me “The Christmas Lady”. Was anyone here from that forum? It might have been called Aion, and it might have been run by someone named Chris.
