She is a beauty and you have stitched her beautifully. The only reason I don't attach beads as I go along is that sometimes/often the thread catches on them so I always do them at the end now. :D

This is going great. Lovely update. Glad you asked about beads as I have beads on the project I am doing next & wondered if it was better to do them as I go along rather than at the end. I see Sally (Squirrel) has mentioned threads can catch on the beads (something I'd not thought of) so I think I will leave them until last. I am gridding my Aida for cottages & yesterday put beads ready with threads so your question came at just the right time for me, thanks :)

Looking forward to next update on this project. It will be wonderful when finished.

She looks lovely! Regarding attaching beads, I've always left them to the end, especially if I'm using a hoop, I've just assumed they'd get damaged otherwise.

I often use beads and find that they are anchored better if I put them on as I go along. I load the bead on the 1st half of the stitch (going left) and then anchor it on the finishing pass (going right.) If I'm using at least two threads I split them around the bead to anchor it, or if I'm only using one thread, I pass it back through the bead - both will methods will take out the "wiggle" and I feel like the bead is less likely to be displaced. All that being said, I sometimes have to use hoops big enough to encompass the entire design, say 16" -18" quilting hoops, so the beads don't get crushed. Usually, though, you can strategically place a normal sized hoop to avoid the problem. The whole project is lovely. Your stitching is beautiful.

Here is another update. Did the krenik out line on the skirt and I think I have seriously underestimated how much I still Have to do. It was to be a birthday present next week don't think so. Then it was going to be a Christmas present, will have to rethink that one. Still we will just keep going . Any way here it is

:applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: I have had birthday gifts turn into Christmas gifts turn into birthday gifts....... until they become "I finally finished it" gifts. An unbirthday present as the Mad Hatter would say. Regardless of when she receives this absolutely beautiful piece, it will be loved! I love the skirt. The kreinik thread makes it really sparkle1

The sparkle added sure lifts the other colours to a higher level and really there is not a whole more to do and if, as I am guessing it is, that it is just a continuation of each blue down to the gold will not take you long at all.
Regardless of when it is finished though it will be loved I am sure. A great update. :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:
