I promised you photos of my next project and here it is

Image
It is for my grandaughter Keira. I am doing it on white 18 count with one strand( am I mad?)
You will see at the top of the patterns there is a window well Joan designed it so both patterns could be joined together so that the 2 cinderellas are facing each other.and thats what I am doing. I have got all the thread all 40,the krenik and the fabric now Ijust have to get started.
I have never done anything quite so detailed before and after looking at some of your pics I decided it was time to set myself a chalange and get out of my comfort zone of 14 count over 2.
iwill post photos Wish me luck

:applesauce: :applesauce: That will be stunning! Your granddaughter will love it! And remember it is still one stitch at a time, regardless of the fabric and the threads that you use!

They are both gorgeous designs and Joan Elliot"s designs are easy to follow and fun to stitch. Your grand daughter is going to love this I am sure. Just remember it is 1 stitch at a time no matter how small or how big and every stitch you put in is 1 less to do and then it is finished.
Looking forward to watching this one grow. :D

That looks like a beautiful project and one that your granddaughter will treasure. You have my admiration for attempting 18 count. I can't wait to see your progress.

This will be beautiful and I'll be following closely.

As for 18 count, I really enjoy stitching on it. Smallish stitches but I can see the holes without a magnifier. :D

:applesauce: :applesauce: Lovely start. I would have started with "rags" also. Since that is how Cinderella started too!

A good idea to do the border first then you know the boundaries. Very neat and even stitching too. A good update :D

I have a query. As you know I am stitching this on18 over one have tried to do some of the Krenik but it seems a bit strong for the rest stitching. Any thoughts on what I can use instead. Though of just using blending filiment. Any suggestions will be gratefully received.

Generally, I don't like stitching with Krenik by itself and will use a strand of regular floss with it. That is mostly because I prefer a more subtle bling. I also prefer using Rainbow Blending Thread by Glisten Gloss to the Krenik (which I learned about here on the forum) which is a bit easier for me to stitch with. Also using shorter lengths of thread than I use with regular floss helps. Another product which many stitchers use to make the Krenik more manageable is Thread Heaven. I haven't used it very often, but it usually gets good reviews. I am sure that Sew and So carries it, if you don't have a LNS nearby.

This is what I have done so far. Decided to carry on with the krenik and i must admit it does not look as bad as I thiught.

There is rather alot of the krenik swirls so I decided to do them as I go along. Iam enjoying it so far..
