It's starting to look really special. Good plan to alter the stitching order as once you get something to focus on, it does seem to stitch up more quickly

Dedication...
Others doing this type of picture could well be dedicated. However, for me, I honestly don't see it that way. I am just stubborn. Very stubborn. It's NOT going to beat me...

Regards

Richard.

After putting Gryff away, it was out with 'Luz' to see if I could make any sensible progress.

The current state of the stitching (as of about 45 minutes ago) is:
Image
Have finished the 7546 stitches of Page 7 of the chart and started on page 3. Just yesterday evening the whole picture seemed to come together much more as the hairline & forehead boundary became much more visible.

Anyway, pleased to be making progress.

Regards,

Richard

Thank you all for your kind comments.

I do hope the picture will be worth it in the end. I think it will, but you never know, & 4 years is one heck of a time to wait & see!

Regards,

Richard.

Two weeks on and I am going to put this one away for a month, so I thought I'd give a progress update before then.
The chart page cross reference (which helps to make sense of what you can see):

And the actual progress:

As you can see, I an continuing with page 3 of the chart and doing the background seems to help in defining the face.

Regards,

Richard

Even compared to just 2 weeks ago her head is much more defined and I bet you are more motivated by seeing that detail emerge.

Thank you for your kind comments.

It is amazing how the picture definition builds up, and how adding the background defines the face more. I am sorely tempted to finish the head before everything else. I will resist the temptation, though, and go and finish chart page 8 after finishing this page, before starting any new pages.
