Some progress on the Turquoise Sea. Please excuse the really bad Q-snap marks, I do use a piece of fabric to protect the stitching but this is so dense on the back that the clips are a bit tight.

I hope everyone has a restful holiday period, those who don't have to work over it, anyway!

Thanks for looking. :)

It does look very benign just now, but the right hand side of the picture will be distinctly less peaceful!

It's coming on beautifully.
With any luck the marks will wash out when you're done.

How beautiful this piece is, and your stitching is lovely. :applesauce: :applesauce: I suspect the marks will ease with a gentle wash and iron once the whole thing is finished. In the meantime, it might be an idea to take it off the q-snap if you know you'll not get back to it for a week?

I think they will too; they have in the past on previous work. I do take off the Q-snaps if I'm not working on it for a while but I worry that if I was to take them on and off every time (nearly every day) I could cause more damage by forcing the clips over the same bit of stitching repeatedly. Do you think that would be the case? They really are tight in places.

I only take my Q-snaps or hoops off a project when I move to another WIP or have to move to a different part of the fabric. I've always done that and the marks have always gone away, though it might depend on the fabric used ? I think putting a q-snap on and off on a daily basis would be worse even with some fabric between the stitching and the q-snap, though I'm sure some do that regularly also and have no problem.
I expect that is something that can cause a real debate.

That picture stitched on black is awesome. I am sad if you have to battle with it.

The sea picture...it is stunning! I could never stitch anything that pretty.

Can I point out that a cross stitch picture is simply one stitch after another. You can do it.
