I've just posted on
FoF about doing square filets in more than one colour, for those who'd like to read about it in a bit more detail

Mabel, Mabel, Mabel. It's obvious that your imagination was never squashed at an early age.

No end to your talents.....and we certainly profit from your creativity
I was thinking about experimenting with square filets and now it's going to be sooner than later!
Whilst looking at your Fof I rediscovered the Ladybird design.
Now I wonder if I can issue a challenge?
How about a FISH?

I suspect I may be unsquashable, Serinde
Wendy, a fish... well, why not and who knows! the lovely colours on some of the scales are definitely worth looking into.

Great to see in FOF Mabel, it must be such a great help for those who want to make these designs. Wonderful things to keep. Don't think i would part with anything that beautiful.
Wendy, you mention making designs of a fish & also mentioned 'filets'. Did the idea of fish fillets enter your mind for you to suggest this for a design?
May be not & it is just my weird sense of humour!

Done in several iridescent shades of Petite Treasure Braid they could look very fishy indeed (not to say scaly...), and if I ever use them like that I will most definitely call them Fish Filets in your honour, Izzi

Mabel I am in awe once again of your talented imagination - does it ever sleep???? Maybe one day I will have a play with the square fillets.
Thanks for the wonderful ideas you come up with.

Thank you Mabel, very kind of you. I've just dipped a little curtsy although you won't be able to see it
Look forward to your next designs of MMM (Mabel's Mini Marvels) too although your works are always beautiful whatever size they are

Here is the second half of Heart's Treasure - an upright cross with suspended sequins:
And here the two are together:

Really like those. Of course the Rhodes hearts, goes without saying. The bi-colour fillet stitch is interesting, but well, you know me, I'd do these things all in one colour given half a chance (very old fashioned, I know). However the sequins work really well, presumably replacing the spider's web that would generally be used. Don't suppose "they" do coloured sequins? Thinking here of gold with gold thread; green with green thread...

WOW Mabel they are both gorgeous but I think the one of the left would be my choice. Using the sequins is a great idea though and what fun Serinde could have with all those colours.

Really beautiful, I particularly like the left one but amazing what you have done with the sequins.

Another triumph!
I love the look of those sequins suspended in the web of square filets!

Oh. You've just given me another idea! Because they aren't actually suspended in square filets. But they could be....
