Any Suggestions???

Post by Unfinished »

I am just finishing a small piece for a friend who is shortly going to have a baby. It will have the baby's name and birth date on it, but I'm not sure how to present it and I would really appreciate any suggestions.

Image

I don't want to frame it as I know she already has two WTP pieces of framed cross stitch for the nursery and another piece maybe overkill. I did think about making it into a card but it is too big - it is about 15" long.

Any thoughts :?:

Or it could be a (bit unusual form of) name plate for the door.

This is really a sweet piece. I am sure your friend will appreciate this. I think a bellpull is a great way to finish off.

Yes, from the shape of it, I think a bell-pull would be lovely. Framecraft sell bell-pull ends:

I'm sure she's going to love it.

It's asking to be a bell pull, isn't it? And there are some great bell pull ends out there, everything from very plain to terribly ornate.

What great ideas - thank you all.

The bell pulls do look nice - I've not heard of them before.

That's very cute. I'm rather fond of the height chart idea but not sure of a way to make it work.

You just measure upwards from the bottom, starting at, say 45cm, then backstitch in the heights at the appropriate intervals; I like them but unfortunately have no call for them as my stepsons are both past the 'cute height chart' stage :-(
But the bell pull idea is lovely for this - it may be a bit short for a height chart.
