Four Elements SAL....

Post by cuddlyme »

My interest in feng shui and tai chi has now extended into cross stitch.
This is a real challenging project - ie. to complete all four pieces (water, fire, earth and wood).
Each will include a trigram, yin/yang, feng shui art symbols.....
This is the wip on 'fire'...

Thought the 'zoom' pic might help those who are interested as to how this 'vitual' stitching works. ie. in this case each stitch comprises of a 3x3 tile which is created when chosing the colours for the piece.
More explanations regarding the meaning of trigrams, etc as the SAL proceeds. However, if anyone has questions, I'm more than happy to answer them.

Thanks for viweing... off to continue working on it now.
Cheers for now,
Happy Stitching :D

I know others have asked but not sure if you have said. What program do you use to create your work? Are you doing them with an eye on being a designer of charts or are you doing them just for your own pleasure?

This is my hobby Rose..... just for pleasure and for friends as gifts, usually get them framed.

I mostly use photoimpact drawing tools. My cross stich work is just an off-shoot of my other passion - pixel painting. My inspiration comes from many sources - free patterns, make my own using other software, library books, etc
It's heaps of Fun, especially coming up with ways to make beads, braid, look realistic as I hope my stitches do.

It is a wonderful project. We all have our own creative juices. It will be fun to watch your progress.

For...got to capture progress for a day or two.
Anyway, here's where things are at now.....

Lots of back-stitch to do yet, but at least now there's a little more to see, although not as much progress as I'd like to have made.
Hope to be able to complete this by the weekend....fingers crossed that RL doesn't get in the way too much

Very pretty colour combinations. It will be interesting to see how the back stitch changes the look of it now.
