fccs’s Cheyenne finished May 2021

Post by fccs »

This is the design, chosen because my kids live in Cheyenne right now and I spend a lot of time up there.

My progress (stitched on 28 count Monaco, which I love)

I changed The Daddy of Them All to The Daddy of ‘em All because that’s how it’s worded on the CFD site. I might omit the foofy border (because it seems a little out of place) and the mountains at the top because they are the Grand Tetons, which cannot be seen from Cheyenne.

Great start — and very clever to do all the outlining first. As someone who never lived west of the Mississippi, I bow to your superior Grand Teton knowledge. The Rockies are, well, The Rockies to ignorant old me!

What a fun project this one will be. The outside border reminds me of a border I did on an afghan that had a Native American theme which may be what the pattern is going after, though it is a bit of a stretch. Like the changes you have made already!

I just finished one more motif on my Cheyenne sampler: the Governor’s Mansion. I really love this project, both the design itself and the fact that each little motif is (in my mind) a finish. And stitching things I’ve actually seen and visited is just an extra bonus.

This is looking great. It will be a wonderful, meaningful item all throughout the stitching and especially when complete.

:applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: I love it. Samplers like this are so much fun. Lots of little finishes (or not so little) and places and people you know. And you have stitched it beautifully!

For some reason, I put the most recent update(s) in a different thread (my little guys, which this is definitely not) so I’m updating this thread. I’ve done more but right now I’m too lazy to get up and take a picture of it.
