Have a practice on some fabric first, if they go wrong it won't matter :D
My Hubby taught me how to do them, and he does not stitch

That is really beautiful!
My cat died last year so I can't make myself stitch one, but bevertheless, I really adore the cat patterns. So one day, probably...
I have never tried a French knot. Read some descriptions, so I know - in theory. Practice- that's another thing.
Good luck with them!

All finished.
:D

I started off with quite bad french knots (large heart) but was improving by second heart and then was quite getting into them by the time I started the words!

Am now considering what will be my next project ... :thinks:

Thanks. I'm a bit unsure of the way there are blank parts in the large heart, but that's how it is on the chart and the picture. Was thinking I might fill in a bit with half stitches or something.

But anyhow, I'm glad it's completed. I was concerned I'd make a mess of the backstitch and french knots, but it's not too bad after all. Far from perfect I know, but I'm actually in shock that I'm managing to even stick at these projects now and infact, can't wait to start a new one. I have about 4 I want to do next!

Well ........

My nephew gets married in September, so I found a simple sampler in a magazine that I liked, but it has 4 pictures in boxes on it. I don't want to do those pictures, so I found 4 others that I think would look nice.
So now I have to work out how to substitute one set for the other.
I thought it would be fun to see if I can do that.
Then also I want to use silver thread for the writing instead of the grey used in the pattern, so I hope that will work out ok as well.

Also ... I want to make a few little cards up. I just made up the little Teddy I did as a special card for a little girl we know. So it would be nice to have a few prepared for using whenever.

Then I would like to try and design a special sampler for my eldest son, but would have only two weeks to make and finish it, so that would be a challenge!! Although it would be mostly verse with a nice border, so might not be too time consuming?
I am hoping the metallic threads work well for 'writing'.

That's all what I'm sort of toying with at the moment ... but I do also have another kit I quite like the look of.

Decisions, decisions :thinks:

Yep, am still putting things in my cart (Sewandso). not got round to actually placing the order yet as I keep putting things in and then removing them.
I'm getting some of the metallic threads to try. Also some Thread heaven, although I'm not sure how you actually use that
And I was going to get a few embellishments but have found cheaper ones on ebay.
Also going to get some wadding from ebay (cheaper) and am just looking at Aida now to see where its better value.

So am hoping to get stitching again soon. I don't feel happy having no project on the go.
