My gramma has a ton of Enid Blyton, my dad loved the famous five. But the faraway tree and the wishing chair were the ones I loved. They're still in amazing condition! Can you believe it? They've entertained two generations and could still pass in a book store!

I've kept most of my childhood books, my paperbacks didn't survive too well. I mean my Narnia books have been read so much that the pages are falling out! But my hardbacks? They're still in almost perfect condition.

Thank you all ^_^ It is great having so much time to just stitch. And I'm really proud of it too. I showed my boss just before logging on and he liked it too. It made me happy because this is the same man who scoffed at stitching when I started

I hope to finish it soon.

So I did my tweety birds, but they're sooooo light, my phones camera couldn't distinguish them from the canvas. So I chose not to put up another picture till I'd don'e something you could see. So I did some more on the bottom border, then got bored of lines of crosses so decided to do a little backstitch... *wimpers pathetically* His face was hard to backstitch on aida because it's got like....half stitches in backstitch!

T'is going to need ironing soon mesa thinks :P

Mesa also thinks I is going to have to take photos with my digital camera soon for the detailing in the backstitch, my phone can't seem to capture it. *sigh* And the backstitch is looking like it'll take a long time to do with it's fiddely stitches.

It's looking superb. Take you time with the backstitch, and all will be well.

Oh that looks brilliant!
Well done. :D I know back stitch seems a bit daunting when you're faced with loads of it, but I've no doubt it will look fantastic once you've finished.

Don't let the backstitching get the better of you it really is not that bad. Just take it one stitch at a time. The whole thing is wonderful it really looks great. :P

Thanks all. I'll keep ploughing through it. I'm sure I'll get there eventually.

I love my tweety birds though, the backstitch really makes them stand out.
