Flo's First SAL - Starry Night with Tardis

Post by flosaxby »

Hi All,

I've been a lurker on this forum for a while now, occasionally replying to others but generally just enjoying reading all your exploits!

Anyway I have now started on the Starry Night with the Tardis design that Skitzzzzz created so I thought given that it's a sort of Cross Stitch Forum exclusive I should really share my progress with you.

I am stitching it on 16 count Aida (just because I happened to have it in my stash) so my finished piece is going to be slightly bigger and my lovely husband bought all the threads that I needed when he was on a business trip to America recently!

I promise to post pictures once I've created an account on photobucket or something like it...

Sounds great Flo! Can't wait to see your progress. How nice that you were able to get all your floss cheaper on your DH's trip! And nice of him to remember! :D

I will be following your progress with interest - I just made a start on this one this week - not brave enough to post pics though  , but I will cheer you on through all the confetti stitching!

Okay I finally managed to get my photos into an old Flickr account. Hope this works. Sorry for making you wait!

I'm used to starting a piece from the middle and working my way out to the edges so I've started on Page 7 of the chart (for those who also have copies).

Excellent! Another Starry Night :)

That's a lovely start and it'll be interesting to see one growing from the middle instead of the corner.

This will be fun to follow! I've bought that chart from HAED myself (just not the "with Tardis"), but not gonna start on it any time soon, got several projects lined up before that, but one day ...

Hi All,

Thanks for the encouragement!

Thought I should post another picture now that I've been stitching it for a whole week. It's surprising how little it looks!

Plenty of time for stitching at the weekend so maybe I can make a bigger dent in it.....

The great thing about taking photos as you go is that you can see that you're making progress. It's coming on nicely and it looks lovely and neat :)

Hi All,

It's been a couple of weeks since I've updated this. I had my very first migrane last week so I've not done as much as I would have liked.

Here's the latest picture:

Will be interesting to see this one grow from the middle whereas others who are doing this are starting from the top left.

Can't wait to see how it develops.

Hi All,

Sorry I've not updated this recently. I've been working on a couple of wedding samplers.

I will add photos when I get home tonight.

You might be able to make out the beginning of the Tardis in the top right-hand corner!

Hope to get lots more done this weekend.
