Here I Go Again!!

by wendywombat » Thu Jan 11, 2018 9:38 am

...this time I'm taking my Samsung tablet so I won't be out of contact with The Forum! :whoop:

We shall be in the UK for 10 busy days...still sorting out house & my Dad (who is still bed-blocking! The home he could be going to has been closed to admissions due to 'flu) :ratherbe:
Have a Skip (?Dumpster?) ordered for Monday as we shall be starting to empty the house, but we do plan some down-time and good eating too!

:driving: Leaving tomorrow morning and taking 2 days to get up to Saint-Malo, then the overnight boat.

Of course I'm taking some stitching to do...a couple of 'Our Mabel's' designs
 Growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional!

Here's to a smooth crossing, a smooth visit, and some smooth "skipping" - as well as some good eating! Hope the flu restriction will soon be lifted so your father can go to the home and hopefully start settling in and feeling as much at home as is possible.

What Mabel said. Glad you can keep in touch with the dubious sanity of the Forum. I have your favourite spot in the S&G all ready for you... just in case, you understand... :wip:

Settling into our "home" for 10 days. We are house-sitting here for a week as the owners of the B&B we use are away on holiday and asked us to look after the house for them . :D They knew we were coming over so we can do each other a favour. We stay on after they are back.

Crossing was fine bit of swell after we left, but it's good to be on dry land again.
Tomorrow starts the work, but today's walk and relaxing will have set us up for that.

Make yourself comfortable! Isn't it nice when it works out to the advantage of both parties?

I agree with Mabel. Great you did not have to worry about accommodation plus you knew exactly where you were headed for. Glad you & DH relaxed today. Good luck tomorrow, each hours work is a bit less to sort out. Have you got plenty of large garden bags to put rubbish in or are you using something else ? It must be hard to work out how to deal with a whole chaotic house full of goodness knows what.

:x: there won't be any nasty surprises. And you find :rainbow: :sun: at the end of the week :)

Filled 2 more large trash bins with rubbish today  plus 10 black bin liners full of magazines and publicity rubbish plus 5 bags of paper junk......we have a skip on the drive for larger items and it looks nowhere big enough :tizzy: . Some of the bin bags we shall take to the local dump.
.
We wil get house clearance firm in to do the furniture etc but we are still searching for essential documents and any personal information! How a supposed intelligent man ( in his opinion, not mine!) could live like this is totally beyond me!! :tantrum:
Found food dated 2004 today!

:ratherbe:
Still we are managing to laugh a lot and tonight's meal out will go down very well. May get some stitching done sometime. Fell asleep over my book last night

I see that the Great Work has begun. Hope you uncover the documents soonest, therefore being able to become that most rare of creatures: Vombatus ursinus maior importunus: the Greater Ruthless Wombat. 8)
