Away for a few days.... Back Home!!

Post by wendywombat »

.....back at the w/end.

Just popping over to the UK to give Daughter Dear a hand. When a daughter calls the old umbilical cord gets tugged, doesn't matter how old the offspring are, does it? I'm on the 'dawn flight' tomorrow!

When I get back I shall put those promised photos up of the Rag Book I made. It was well received and a huge surprise to the person on the receiving end. :D

Take care Girls and Boys...especially those still recovering from Irma!!!

Can I offer a pair of sharp scissors?
Or a hammer?

Either work at severing the umbilical bond.

Good luck, must be a bit serious to go at such short notice.

Richard.

No, not serious...just an awaited hospital appointment and Someone has to fetch and carry the "dear kiddywinks" from school. The flights were a good price so I can do a bit of 'essential' shopping whilst there!

If my kids ever try pulling a stunt like getting me to change country simply to take their kids to school, they will rapidly learn what the term 'Being grown up and responsible adults' means in very Anglo-Saxon language. And after that they would cease to expect, or even hope, for something like that unless they were at death's door.

Regards,

Richard.

Thank Goodness. I too would fly in to help across this great country if there were cheap flights available.

If only I had the time to go snip off to the UK...

Although I have to agree with Richard, my mother would whoop our tushies if we even dared to try and make her fly over for such a thing.

Hope your daughter comes through just fine. I'm with Sally. Wish I could find a cheap flight to fly over and help you out, though I'm not sure I'd be great at transporting kiddies since (and now watch this start a huge argument) driving is on the wrong side of the street over there.
I have to admit, I've been known to fly further to help family out than the distance you've got to fly. Hope you get some of those "essentials" that you must have. That in itself is probably a good reason to go.

It will be lovely to be with the little ones again and see your daughter. I hope that all will go well for the hospital visit.

When I first came to England, it disturbed me to be on a island! We have a take a boat or a plane ( or the Eurostar) to go anywhere.

I wonder what you are bringing back with you...
I am the other way around. I love going to France to get some cheeses, wines, biscottes, a jar of chicory, artichokes, tins of fine green beans and Suchard praline rochers!

I shall be home tomorrow. I've had a great time being head cook, chauffeur and mission control for a few days. Daughter now fine after her tests

I'm so glad that I came ...so well worth the effort.

Well I'm home! Got back yesterday after a Very Early Flight  Fell asleep on the sofa in the afternoon!!

All I managed to bring home with me was the latest WOCX magazine and a cold!! :smelly:
Those lovely children passed that on to me!

Never mind I'm back over again in early October for a week (this trip was planned! ) and I'm tempted by the DMC offer so I'll get that sent there if I do buy it. Also there will be more opportunity to shop!
