O my goodness Its been awhile

Post by Ajay »

I have not forgotten my fellow stitchers, I've had alot going on

1. I'm getting all new floors in my house, install starts 9/7/2017 currently we are going through the house getting rid of stuff we don't need!
2. We got all new appliances in the kitchen. New oven, dishwasher and stove.
3. A co worker quit at work so I've been working 6 days 10 hours a day
3. My college classes have started
4. My child has morphed into a demon child, who thinks the living room is an extension of her bedroom and refuses to clean up half the time
5. and this week my husband has been gone ALL week on a vacation with the boys.
6. Legos came out with a London red bus set that needed to be bought and built
7. A new patio door is being built for our back door and changing from a sliding door to french doors, with blinds in between the glass

In between all this, I think I've gotten 30 stitches in

I'm exhausted....anyone want to borrow an 8-year-old??

Wow, are you the mirror image of my life down in Arizona minus the child? I totally get it! I had 2 coworkers quit, been working 6 days, 9 hours a day or so, our fence is falling apart, and my dog is totally acting out. There must be something in the water!

Glad you're connecting with us again!

Great to see you and you have my total sympathy for dealing with an 8-yr-old, but nope. We have always run a girl-free zone (mums don't count, duh), and it's useful to be reminded why on occasion. (Our two paragons of virtue -- ha! not! -- turned that awful corner later, so I do feel your pain.) Is it me? I thought girls were relatively reliable until about 13... I must be old.

I'm exhausted reading what's been happening, no wonder you have been too busy to stitch or come on here. Hope life slows down for you soon & you can start your hobby again. Look forward to seeing what you stitch :)

  So good to hear from you and given what you are going through I'm amazed you had time to either get 30 stitches done or to send us a post but am very glad you did! Keep us as updated on your life as you can and your stitching if you have any (but it's okay if you don't). You have been missed!

Steel toe-cap shoes and a waste bin will both be useful in teaching brat to clear up. Apply toe-cap to backside, and toys that remain 5 mins after clear-up request to waste bin. We found the message got through loud and clear to our kids on the first occasion. I admit it was noisy, but I went deaf for that half hour. Remember, you, not brat, are boss, and they do what you say, not vice versa.

Beyond that, welcome to the club!

Regards

Richard.

Yes, excellent strategy (apart from steel toecaps). :P Hearing their mother -- who never, ever swears -- uttering foul filth in their general direction provided enough of a shock.

WOW what a busy time you have had but I am sure that once the dust settles it will all be well worth it. "No thanks" to the offer of an 8yr old - too old now and not enough patience to cope.
