OT Pete Underhill print

Post by Mabel Figworthy »

A few weeks ago Sew & So showed off a new kit on FB and I really liked it, but was absolutely certain I'd never get round to stitching it. When I asked them if it was available as a print, they advised me to contact the artist. I did, he said no it wasn't available, and then offered to send me a copy, which he did, signed! Aren't people kind?

There are some really nice people out there.Years ago when I saw my first piece of Hardanger I sent a letter to the designer Emie Bishop saying how much I liked it.Several weeks later I received her latest design(Christmas Stocking) and a lovely letter.Years later she sent me a copy of her hardback book of Hardanger after I alerted her to someone passing off one of her designs(slightly altered) as their own "original"

What fun that is and how wonderful of him to send you the picture. Most people are very kind and helpful - we just have to learn to ask

I saw those designs and thought they were really cute and colourful, but (like you) knew I'd never get around to it.

Yes, people are great and designers (and makers, generally) are a really good bunch.
