Well,I did it.!!!!!

Post by Stitchinkitty »

I've booked for the Mary Hickmott Embroidery and Sampler Tour of South West England in September.Flights to and from Aus plus travel insurance were organized yesterday.I'm in a state of total meltdown at the moment. It's 43 years since I was last in the UK.

I was on line last weekend researching the details. Lucky you! I hope you have a wonderful time. Do you have family or friends to visit as well while in the UK?

You're leaving Queensland and visiting the UK.. deliberately!?!

Hard to credit.

Seriously, though, I hope you have a thoroughly enjoyable time. The only thing I can suggest is that, if you are going to drive to the south west from the London airports that you should expect to be terrified out of your skin by the traffic near London (I am, and I drive round London regularly, the drivers are all completely insane!). And realise the speed cameras are not there for show, they are there to gather as much income as possible.

All the best,

Richard.

Well, what a lucky gal you are.  :whoop: It does look like the best tour (and Richard, it's all done by guides and on chartered busses, so no meltdown in terror on the M25 likely), and I was tempted... You will find the UK a changed place since the 1970s, tho, so be prepared!

Don't worry Richard. There's no way I will be behind the wheel of any form of transport.Shuttle bus from airport to hotel to recuperate from flight then on to the departure point by taxi two days later and after that it's a coach with driver.
