This will take many birthdays and anniversaries...

Post by Mabel Figworthy »

...but wouldn't it be fun? (If I had a craft room, that is...)

You can see pictures of an absolutely drooly craft storage cupboard (which undoubtedly also gives access to Narnia) here

Or see a video of it "in action" here

Here's a small pic of it in case you can't get the links to work:

Oh, and $250 is the deposit, not the full price

OMG Mabel, what a large box/cupboard of delights this is. Imagine having one of those!! Thanks for sharing, lovely to see these things even if I can't afford one, whatever this costs. Sooo great to look at though :)

I know I saw it on FB earlier in the week. It sure is a beauty and oh how wonderful it would be to have it. Alas no room for it here.
Thanks for sharing it Mabel.

OMG I saw this on FB this last week and my hubby totally teased me about getting it as a birthday present. "WHERE WOULD WE PUT IT IN THIS APARTMENT?!" "Oh we'd make it fit."

8 pallets, no make that 15, 6 weekends in the workshop & bob's yer uncle. Cost about, ooh, £10 in screws and £20 in varnish, £0.50 in adhesive, nowt for the pallets, but use £600 worth of machinery. (I made some sliding sash windows from scratch once, using standard size planed timber from the timber merchant. The first took 3 weekends, with a design tweak, the second took one weekend, I imagine there would be a similar benefit to experience with this.)
Nice though.
The biggest problem with having that much storage space is that you WILL fill it. And probably sooner rather than later.

Regards,

Richard.

I see a business opportunity for you Richard :-)! But of course the costing only works if you don't pay yourself for your time...

Mabel, I know. Always cost things as if my time costs nothing. Well, at home, for us, it doesn't. I tend to buy the tools for a job, and keep them, so if a router is bought for making a window, then it's free for all future jobs. Have a pretty well specified workshop now, including a 10" wide thicknesser meaning I can plane all my own planks too after separating them from the pallets.

Richard

Wow! I wish I had the space and money for that. It's gorgeous! Plus a dedicated table to finish things instead of having to clear off a kitchen counter and scour away until I'm sure it's clean. :)

Richard I could fill it now with no problem and be able to ditch the big cupboard, 2 book shelves and the top of the filing cabinate and about 20 files.

Lovely thought but the postage would be almost as much as the object, so sadly it is just a dream. Nice though

a teeny bit less unaffordable and still very nice is their MiniBox (which I think they are in the process of redesigning)

I really like this one. It would easily replace the several storage carts I have (though mine are significantly more affordable as they are Rubbermaid units from Walmart), but the rollers do come off. But I guess that is one of the differences due to the huge price differential  Still if I ever win a lottery (if I ever buy a lottery ticket), that could easily be one of my first purchases!
