hurrah, I'm allowed to stay. Will have some of the Scapa - let it Flow! out of the bottle that is. Heard of Scapa Flow can't remember where it is. who cares as long as we can drink the bottled stuff along with a few tasty morsels of food, Scotch eggs perhaps or are they 'old hat' nowadays. A few bagpipers as well to join the party & lively Scottish dancing. Love to see that on Edinburgh Tattoo, makes me feel happy watching them & listening to the drone of the bagpipes :D

Scapa Flow is an inlet/harbour in The Orkney Isles.
It was famous because of the scuttling of the German Fleet in WW1 and the sinking of a British warship HMS Royal Oak by a German submarine in WW11

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scapa_Flow" target="_blank

Scapa Distillery overlooks the Flow and some say that the Malt produced there is better than Highland Park which is also produced in Orkney. Well, I think so anyway!!

I like listening to the skirl of the pipes too! :D

Oh, now I know Thanks for link. I had thought of the word 'skirl' relating to bagpipes, then thought maybe I had got muddled with the swirl of the kilts as the dancers swing round!

Kilts 'swing'. Especially on men. 8) (Women wear 'kilted skirts', doncha know. Now, they might swirl.) And, yes, bagpipes 'skirl'. Wonderful word.

Whew. Just been doing battle with the Sew and So website (it's not an improvement, IMHO). Anyway, I'm here, out of the weather with a :tea: and :cake: . Love this new line in Christmas goodies: gingerbread muffin with spiced whipped cream!

Whew! *Serinde drops her shopping bags at the bar.* Why, why, why do I leave it so late to decide about making a card for a wedding on 6 January?!? Because I thought I had 25ct navy luganda in my stash. And I also thought I had a silver card of the right size. Both of these things were wrong: I have 28ct navy and the correct size but wrong colour of card... sooooo back to Sew and So I go. Now, I think I've covered all eventualities.

:tea: :cake:

Been there, done that! I think I have the right count in the right colour and then I realise that with advancing age that I get it all wrong! Ho hum! I'll join you in that soothing :tea:

Glad I'm not the only who finds the new SewandSo webpage more difficult to navigate. Look forward to seeing the card on here when it's finished. A rest & a few drinks in here will give you the chance to get your energy back, well it's a good excuse anyway if we ned excuses ot drop by & imbibe that is :D

Good evening everyone I hope you're all well! I found out today that Kate Bothy of Bothy Threads is currently working on making one of my favourite Wrendale illustrations 'Birds of a Feather' into cross stitch. I can't wait to see what it'll look like :whoop:

I'm guessing as soon as it comes out Wendy! I'm secretly hoping she messages me and asks me to stitch one of the new ones for her as I've asked her before. Fingers crossed!

Awww yes perfect! I think if she's just working on it now that it would be the middle or end of next year before it was released but I think I would still have time to do it :x:
