Absolutely fatal sitting down doing some online 'browsing' when you come across these two and just know that you need to have them even though you're probably stitched out for the next five years or more! :tizzy: I could always work on them 'inbetween' my Wrendales @rotfl:

Oh these would look really beautiful stitched on a natural linen! But even on the white Aida they look really cute.

They are so cute, Nicola. They are not too large, as projects, either.

Entirely justified, Mabel, you do need material to create wonderful things. Looking forward to seeing your material and hoops. :D

No hoops yet, but my fabrics have arrived   - these are Essex linen (which I think is actually a linen mix), and I want to use them for goldwork. The orange was a bit of an unplanned one - it was on half-price offer, and adding it meant I paid no postage, so I got that fat quarter for 30p :-). And it's a really interesting orange in that it is quite a "cool" shade, not the usual fiery bright orange. I'm thinking of doing the umbrella in silver on the Teal, and the parasol in gold on the Orange.

My first hoop has arrived - this is a RSN deep hoop, which I'm hoping to use for goldwork, where there's a lot of tugging at the fabric going on sometimes. The second pic shows it next to an ordinary hoop.

I agree, square hoops are unusual but oh so useful I would think. Where did you get them from please Mabel? I just might be tempted - darn it.

I got them from Barnyarns, Sally. If you look at my FoF (link above) it has a direct link to the hoop page.

It is Debby's (fccs) fault. She got the Winter Walk one (on the left) which I just had to have and then she bought Waiting for the New Year and I definitely had to have that one. One of my younger sons has an expression just like that and I can't resist stitching it for him. Alas I doubt it will be for his mid January birthday but you never know. :whoop: In the meantime I will just imaginary stitch them.
