Last night I had no choice but to come here for a visit, but it lasted only over night. I had some pain in my belly. Probably something related to the fact I am a woman. Oh well, such is life. But in the morning they let me go home. Unfortunately the weather in my country is very unpredictable, so it may be I have to come back soon.
Poor Serinde even had to give me a painkiller last night before I went to bed. I owe her a lot. And when I say a lot I mean it.

Hope you feel better soon Mystery Stitcher

I've got an appointment on Wednesday this week to find out what options my consultant has for me with regards to my hip dysplasia, I suspect I have only one option left (hip replacements) so I will be very happy if there is an alternative :x:

Aw, gosh, don't give it a thought, M. (Even analgesia is virtual here, so no laws have been violated!) I'm less able to soothe unpredictable weather, but hope it holds so you can continue to feel better. :? :cake:

Lulu, if you need a hip, thank goodness you can get a new one. Modern medicine, and all that. I've booked your usual spot should you need it. :bandaid:

Lulu, I hope all goes well. But if the replacement is the only choice, it is the only choice.

And it may be I'll be back here in a flash. You see, it is winter and it may be snowing in the future. How do I know? My back hurts. My rheuma doesn't act up for nothing. Oh well, I have my needlework even with rheuma. But may the time show what happens.

Hope pain is eased Mysterystitcher & Lulu I hope things go well for your prognosis but as Serinde said if it is best it has to b. Modern medicine is able to do so much these days. A few more flowers for you to look at as flowering bulbs may be past their best now. Get well soon both of you.

Lulu, crossing my fingers there is at least one other option for you before hip replacement. Mysterystitcher, take care and I hope you feel better soon.

It's supposed to be summer here but so far, while the weather is mild to warm, only 2 hot days so far and several cold nights but weeks and weeks of wind that has reallt wound up all the allergies - a tap on my nose would help but it is the throat full of sandpaper cused by all the coughing that is the bigger problem but still I need to go ut into the wind twice a day to water the garden the windi s thrashing and drying out so no end in sight.
Sniffle cough splutter.

Lilybit, you have my sympathy with the sinus/throat problem. I find TicTac's a great help with soothing the throat and stopping the cough quite a bit - cheaper than cough medication too. Give it a try and see how you find them.
Drink plenty of fluids and stay out of the wind as much as possible.

Brisbane is heading into summer big time this week - darn it and humidity is up there again.

I wish you all the best there in Australia. It must be hard to suffer like that. I feel for you both. Take it easy there, will you? Don't over do.
This European woman is pretty well, even I am up in the middle of the night and my toes hurt (rheuma, I think). I have a feeling there will be snow soon.
How soon? That I don't know. But my rheuma doesn't lie.

Thanks for that squirrel but tic tacs not such a great choice for this diabetic but I have been sucking on fresh pineapple which does soothe the throat quite a bit. While others have a post nasal drip - I'm eperiencing a glue river and that is the cause of all the coughing so it's onto the old fashioned but effective Gees linctis.
Rain has been predicted for tomorrow but then it has been many times before so I guess it is just wait and see because I'm getting cabin fever

Lilybit, you've had warm when you should have hot. We've had warm when we should have cold. Oh, and then it frosts for a day or so. And then reverts to warm. No wonder everyone is ill!! DH came down with massive cold on New Year's Day (not very jolly) and has only attempted to go back to the university today. He left me his sore throat to make sure I don't forget him, I guess.

This changeable weather does us no good at all!!
We have claggy freezing fog and sub-zero temperatures....but then it IS Winter.

Have you tried Eucalyptus steam inhalations, Lillybit? They make your eyes run...but they do wonders for a 'sticky' throat and sinuses.

Poor Serinde, honey and lemon for your throat to soothe and perhaps a thyme gargle. If you have some thyme in your garden, try infusing it in boiling water for a good 15mins, strain it and add some honey...it tastes disgusting otherwise :gurn: .... then gargle with the warm liquid
Thyme is an antiseptic and is great for throats.

Maybe someone spent a night here and all day just out like a light. Easy patient. My stomach hurts and my joints. It means rain, I think. There are clouds and moon on the sky. But if the clouds cover or surround the moon I know it means rain. Oh well, such is life. Poor Serinde and her poor nurses have been running to check every half an hour if I am alive just because I've been out like a light. But now I feel better and my feet carry on again. Maybe it is time to go and wash my hair at last. I've had a plan of doing it for days and now I feel I've time and energy for that.
Needlework side is doing pretty well. Needles have been clicking lately. Once I click them a little bit more I can grab my needlepoint projects.
