Home again...for now!

Post by wendywombat »

We got home again yesterday after an exhausting week cleaning my Dad's house!! Well a bit of it anyway! He's in hospital and will be for a while, so we'll have to go back again to make sure that This Time he'll get proper care!
I shan't rant on now about all the problems we've had getting things sorted ....... :tantrum: but it's 50/50 his fault and social services that he got himself into this latest mess!!

Took some stitching with me, but it didn't see the light of day!   :ratherbe:

Thanks for the messages of support I've had. :grouphug: :toast: :toast:

And then a 'Loud Scream of Rage & Frustration'.

Hmm. Having dealings with any part of the UK state apparatus leaves you just wanting to hit someone.
Anyway, hope things get no worse (at least).

Regards,

Richard

Time for a time out in the Stash and Grab. Get yourself rested and take care of yourself so that you don't end up in St Cross Stitcher's Ward. I think that it sometimes it can be a lot more difficult to take care of an elderly parent who can't or won't care for themselves, than the most difficult child. I wasn't in a different country than my father and was very lucky to have a great stepmother who provided most of his care, but I was 600 miles away and could only relieve her sporadically. So have a :wine: or :tea: and :cake: or two.

Government Depts in any country are mostly a pain to deal with and you have my heartfelt sympathy with all the mess your father has got landed with and now you of course.

Enjoy the quiet time in the Stash and Grab - it is a great place to catch up with yourself. :)

Sorry you've had problems re your father. Hope you can recover your energy & with R&R now you're home.

I must have missed something as didn't know you were away After you're Forumversary don't think I saw you post on here. Thought either you're Internet was out again or that you & your DH had gone on a Caribbean cruise. I was wrong on both accounts. Relax & enjoy a bottle of wine or three!!

I didn't have time to say we were away...again!! I had a phone call about my Dad and off we went!

Looks like we'll be off again fairly soon, too!
One moment he was on the verge of departing, then the antibiotics revived him! I guess he'll be sent home to repeat the whole sorry saga all over again!

We spent 5 days cleaning up the most awful mess!! :gurn: :gurn: :gurn: If only he can be persuaded to go into 'care' but he's a Very determined man!!

I'm off now to the Stash and Grab :D :D :wine:

Crikey you had some quick thinking to do after the phone call. it is bad enough when you live fairly near someone who is ill but being hundreds of miles away & in a different country makes it 10 x worse! How hard you both must have worked during those 5 days. no wonder you didn't get your stitching out.

Have a nice rest in Stash & Grab, see you when you've recouperated. Hope this will not happen again soon but sounds like it may do. How awful when there is only you to do things. :wine:
