it is worse than metallic to me!
i don't have any thread heaven..or money to buy more right now..
anyone know of anything else I can use as I have to use this thread A LOT in the winter/bird scene...not to mention the "confetti" stitches of snowflakes..which I may just do beads..........ugh!

I have heard from some that say they don't like Thread Heaven that a wet sponge and run the thread over that is a quick fix. I have not done this as I love thread heaven. Could try that!

Sorry to hear you don't like the light effects. :(

Sorry I have nothing else I can think of that wouldn't be a big mess.

I have tried baby oil in the past before I discovered Thread Heaven and it did ok but left a mess on the fabric.

Do you have a birthday or anniversary coming up that you could ask for some Thread Heaven as a present. Other holiday gift, 4th of July, Flag Day, Women's Independents day, I want it so get it for me day??????? :P :x :P :x :P :x

Have you secured the thread at the top of the needle with the loop method? I find this stops alot of friction from the movement of the threads, and so stops fraying significantly with the Light Effects. The only other thing I can think of is maybe using candle wax if you have some around the house, I don't know if that would work. Oh, and use shorter lengths... that definately helps!!

Oh dear! My WIP uses light effect threads, but I haven't got to that part of the chart yet. I'm sorry to hear you are having problems, but I do have a block of beeswax to hand so hopefully that will make it easier.

Good luck!

I like mine with black cherry jam ,yummy only I have to fight my eldest for it as he has decided he likes it as well,And when he makes his own sandwiches he spreads it on very thickly  ,It's a wonder he doesn't dry his mouth out with it!!
I remember when my youngest was about dink's age and he used to mash up his sandwiches and then offer them to you, ergh !!

When you say you used beeswax, did you warm it first? I have some in a big block I use for polishing my stairs. Would this do? I have some threads fro India and Thailand that look a bit wispy. I could try that before forking out £'s for Thread Heaven could I?

if i put jam in it, he'll peel apart the bread and finger off the jam and leave the rest. he has quite a sweet tooth!
