Converting French directions

I have a book written in French
Point de croix Celtique
It calls for Aida 5,5 pts/cm et une 11 fils/cm
What does this mean and what should I buy

5.5 pts/cm is 14 count Aida

1 brin is 1 thread for the back stitch, 2 brins is 2 for the cross stitch.
point de nid is a French knot.
Most tape measures these days have metric and imperial so measuring the fabric will be no problem

If you can follow a chart the rest should be easy. :D
