Perle threads

I love using Perle (pearl) threads but I get so frustrated with them when they get excited at being used and throw them selves into a tangle! I Last night I had to start a new skein of #5 and had a brain wave!!
Do you remember when wool came in hanks and had to be wound up before knitting it up? Either the hank had to be slung over the back of a chair or you got someone to help holding the wool over their outstretched hands.
I have an Aristo lap stand and where the frame rests on the arms are 2 little pegs. I put the side arms out at their limit and put the hank of Perle thread across. It was then transferred to one of those DMC stitchbows that I'd been given but had been lying neglected in a box!
BINGO!! no frustrating knots or tangled thread resulting in me getting a wee bit
Just thought I'd share!
