To big for Scroll

Post by AngieR »

My next project (not started yet) is 30 x 29 ish finished. To big for my 20 inch scroll. I really don't want to buy anything bigger for this. So need some ideas about doing this... Use a hoop? And hope it does not mess up my project to much? My largest hoop is a twelve inch wood hoop.
Thank you in advance.
Angie

Hi Angie, I often use hoops and the marks do not stay on the fabric once it is finished and washed. Once it is finished and you have moved it around in luke warm water spread it out evenly on a big towel to almost dry then turn it face (front side) down and press is with a warm iron. Using the towel to iron on helps the threads to stand out. :D

Thank you. Think I well do that and use clips to bunch up the rest of the project while I am doing it

Another trick that might help is to bind your hoop with something like white bias tape. See Mary Corbet's instructions here.
