Post by leila »

I am trying to figure out the best way to cross stitch spokes on a wheel! How can I do this?

Welcome to the forum. :)

How big is the wheel? Can you just use long stitches instead of making Xs? Even if you have to couch it in the middle, that would work. If you need the spoke wider, use three (or four, depending on the count of your fabric) threads. I did that for ship's rigging on a design. The zigzag look of making Xs just didn't look right even when using quarter-stitches, so I did long stitches and couched every so often down the length of the stitch.
