Tail catcher

Post by Nicola Main »

Just wondering if anyone has got one of these and if they are easy to use? Was thinking of purchasing one and noticed they were for sale at Coleshill Accessories.

A few years ago I purchased the Star De-tailor and found it difficult to use and actually have forgotten that I had it. Have to see where I put it. I looked at the ones advertised at Coleshill and they are a lot more expensive and seem to work the same way as the cheaper version. I actually purchased a very small size crochet needle (used to have lots around) and it works just as well if not better for me.

I have one. It's in the bottom of my gadget box and rarely sees the light of day (or rather, rarely sees the daylight output of my stitching lamp). I'm not going to say it's useless to me, but I find a petite needle works for me just as well. I guess it's one of those things that is a waste for one person and a brilliant solution for someone else. :)

Indeed. And I also have a small crochet hook for the purpose. A tenth of the cost, even if it isn't as pretty.

Thanks everyone I've decided not to purchase one. For a twenty pound note I don't think it's worth it. Will just need to learn to cut my thread earlier rather than try to squeeze in another stitch

Include petite needles on your Stashmas list... As Allyn says, they can be very useful in a tight place.

Yes I use a tiny lace makers crochet hook too. Works brilliantly. :applesauce:

I have often wondered about them myself. I always have a crochet hook handy.

I use a needle threader.

Hi Nicola, I have this tail catcher from Coleshill. I have never used it and probably never will. If you want it, PM me your address and I'll pop it in the post to you.
