New here

Post by splash »

Hello, I'm Amanda and I'm glad to have found this forum. I started cross stitching when I was a child and am getting back into it after many years. The largest project I've ever done was an 8x10, but I wanted a challenge, so I'll be starting something that's 3 times that size and I'm excited.

Looking forward to chatting with everyone!

 Hi Amanda and welcome to the forum from a very cold South Carolina! Looking forward to seeing your projects. What is your new big project going to be? I'm one who loves big projects despite how long they take, throwing a smaller one in now and again. Glad you found us and glad you came back to stitching!

Thank you all for the warm welcome! I've already spent several hours checking out the projects people are working on and there are some talented people here!

My thread arrived yesterday and I spent ages sorting it all. I had purchased 4 patterns from Artecy and wasn't sure which one I wanted to start, so I bought thread for all of them, so the sorting took awhile.

I finally settled on one called "Reflection" and have decided to do it on 18pt aida, so it should end up around 14x10 inches. I've never worked on 18pt before, so I'm looking forward to that.

WOW that is an awesome design and is going to look fabulous when it is stitched. I am sure you will soon get used to the smaller count, it is just the same as 14 or 16 ct only smaller gap between each hole. I use a size 26 needle on it ok.

Looking forward to seeing your progress with this amazing one.

:applesauce: That is going to be beautiful!! If you are comfortable stitching on 16ct, 18 ct shouldn't be a problem. Looking forward to watching this one develop!
