Hello

Post by Catz »

Hi thought I would introduce myself.
I am a Brit living in the north east of France. I have 8 beautiful cats.
I have been X stitching for over 20 years and love doing wildlife pics but have stitched all sorts of things. Don't have a favourite designer, just do whatever takes my fancy. I may y stitch for other people now but still have an ever growing stash and always try to make time for my own. Dabble a little in designing, converting one of my daughters artwork. But still trying to find a program I am happy with, any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Used PC stitch at present but want one that enables work to be saved as a PDF file.
Hope to get to know you all better.

 Hi Catz! Welcome to the forum from South Carolina! You have most certainly come to the right place! To start with, this thread Pattern Making Programs, will give you lots of information about different programs. If you read the more recent posts you will find that we have another new member who joined because she was also looking for such a program. One of our members has developed a program which is able to convert pictures to patterns with as much or more detail as you want.

We also love cats, dogs, birds and all other varieties of pets. I'm particularly nuts about cats, but have never had 8 at one time. Have lived with 7 once (when one of our cats had 4 kittens) which was very hectic. Looking forward to getting to know you!

 Hi Catz and Welcome from me too on a gloriously cool Brisbane morning. We sweltered through to 38.6 yesterday until a cool change blew in (almost cold) change blew in last night.

Looking forward to getting to know you and seeing some of your work.

Thank you all for your welcome.
Just working on a UFO, a bothy kit of a Lowery painting and one called Young Lady with the flowers.
Will post pics when allowed.
Have looked at the thread on stitch software. Think I am going to try the one designed by one of your members, looks very good.
Thanks

Can I also say 'Welcome to the nut-house' too?

It'll be nice to see you around, and I am here to 'take the blame'/'give any help needed' with regards to my program 'BlendThreads' as necessary.

Having 8 cats...
Hmm. We have 4, and that's enough. There are 2 of us at home at the moment (after I took the kids to University last night), and that causes squabbles when it comes to which cat gets the lap. There have been occasions when this happens:
Image
Fluffy, the black one, is a large Norwegian Forest Cat (we think) and Gryff was getting close to full size for a Maine Coon Tom at the time. Oh the joys of cats.

Regards,

Richard.

Thank you for sharing, Richard. This photo made my day. It was "all work and no fun" all day, but when I saw your cats, they made me feel much better about this world.

Gorgeous cats. Lucky only 3 of ours like to sit on laps, but they do like to take up one of the sofas and give us the most disdainful look when someone tries to sit on it with them.
Most of all thank you for your programme, will be downloading hopefully this weekend as long as internet holds up.

And a belated welcome from a (temporarily cat-free) household in the slushy West of Scotland!
