After loads of attempts, I think I've managed to get back on to this forum today, by re registering with a new 'name'. Just seeing if I can post this before trying to type anything else.

Hi Ayna and welcome back. Same thing has happened to a few others and I'm not sure why are you sure, you were, using the right password? There have been times when I have had that problem on other websites. Regardless, I'm very happy to see you again  . Have you been stitching while you've been away?

Many thanks to the administrator who approved my first message and to the three members who have welcomed me back. I don't know why the problem occurred though I do recall that one day I suddenly couldn't remembe my password and it all went wrong and I couldn't seem to correct it.
I seem to think that I did post last summer about my health but, in case not, I'll repeat it here. In October 2015 I was told by a neurologist whose specialism is Movement Disorders that my problems with walking were due to a neurological condition called PSP. This is NOT Parkinson's, but a different condition. For any information on this, gooogle PSP, you wil be led to sites that can inform.
Nearly two years on, i am definitely much stiffer than I was although I do whatever I can/is available to fight the beast and, thus far, mentally at least, things seem relatively normal. I don't now attempt to walk outside for more than a 'potter' round the garden type wander≤ but rely on a mobility scooter. Also, a huge change in lifestyle is about to take place: we have finally accepted that this three storey, 5 bedroom house is no longer suitable - DH is reasonably well but definitely , at 82, not as able to do all that we both used to take for granted and concerned for me qwiht attempts to help me have most certainly added to his quality of life. So, we got a buyer for our house very quickly late in May but are still waiting to exchange contracts (which, here in England is the point at which legally, ownership changes with the actual move stated for a later date). We have been ready to exchange now for about 4 weeks but the two sets at the bottom of the chain are not. so the frustration levels are very high and my mood swings go from some optimism to despair. We're buying (or hoping to buy) a retirement apartment down in Cranbrook is some 15 miles down from Tunbridge Wells.
So, fee;ing very tense yesterday I decide tha ti wanted to catch up with some old (virtual) friends and really tackled the problem of access to the forum.and SUCCEEDED !!

Thank you everyone for your welcoming replies; it is super to be back.

I had meant to report on stitching & knitting but forgot. I have not been as active as I was on either in the past year: knitting is not as easy as it was since my arms and hands are rather stiff now and and I am trying to find a better way to hold my needles and also to adapt to using circular ones all the time. I am on the last border of a cot blanket which I have done for a charity which the Sevenoaks Textile Group supports and am also very conscious that I have a jumper for a grandson half done - he has grown so much that it probably won't fit him by the time it is finished but he doe shave a younger brother.!
I can still stitch provided the light is good enough but have scarcely done any since the middle of April when the whole business of moving began and this, combined with DH having to go inot hospital, has taken up so much time. It has now been packed away in readiness for the move (which has stubbornly refiused to happen, thanks to the incredible slowness of these acting for the two lower stages of the chain: The same appliies to my art stuff which is so annoyingt that , if the delay goes on much longer, I shall have to unpack it. Not that I am very good but I really did enjoy sketching and painting and find that even my worst attempt brings back so many memories much more effectively than photos.

Do feel free, as some of you have done, to call me Ayna or even my actual name, Ann, whatever suits you best.

Must now get back to filing away old photos which had piled up - for the past few years photos have been stored on the computer and the previous printed ones have been left alone and the pile contains some real treasures.

Best wishes to you all,

Ann/Ayna
