:D, Hi, my name is Theresa and I'm from Ireland. I cross stitched in school , when I was younger, but always loved it. To be honest, I never knew it was even called cross stitch till about 3 weeks ago! Always told people I would love to embroider, but have soon learned that it's cross stitch that I really do love. I have taken my sip in the pool by subscribing to a magazine....am hoping that getting a step by step guide will be the best start for me. Am a complete amateur, so any advice for beginners would be welcomed.:)

 Hi Theresa and welcome to the forum from South Carolina! You have definitely found the right place to help you get back to cross stitching. I learn something new almost every day. The reason you weren't sure if you were posting or not, is that one of us mods has to "approve" the first post of a new member. That way, the only ones who get stuck reading the spam that gets through is us mods. Believe me when there is a spam attack you don't want to have to see them.

There are lots of resources for new stitchers besides asking questions here. My favorites are Mary Corbet's Needle 'N Thread, Scarlet Quince Solutions (the Tips and Tutorials are excellent. There are excellent video tutorials on YouTube. And of course, asking questions here. Someone will either know the answer or will have a very good idea about where to go for an answer. Looking forward to getting to know you!

Carole
